It’s been an interesting ride these last couple of months. Despite the bizarre circumstances, we would still like to take a moment and look back to the first half of 2020. We had to adapt, become a bit more creative and have thought along with the needs of the new normal as much as possible. Ready to look back on 2020?
It was a half year filled with improvisation. After reopening, customers were eager to clean up their look and in no less than 3 days, 150.000 appointments were made through our system! And despite the circumstances, our team has continued to grow. We have enriched the Salonized team with three new colleagues in the first half of 2020.
Leonie has joined the Product team and has the incredibly fun challenge of testing our latest features. She also loves to listen to your feedback to improve the features.
Steffi is our newest Support hero! Steffi will be there for you when you run into some issues. And will try to help you as much as possible through our online chat or by phone. She will also be more than happy to do a demo with you by phone to show you around our system.

Because it has been quite a challenge for you to keep things running without welcoming customers into the salon, it is nice to see during the development of the new features, how we have tried to respond to your wishes.
A new feature we have created is the online gift voucher widget. You can add this to your website and in 3 easy steps, your customers can buy a gift card online and receive it by email. You can set up different values which the customers can choose from. In addition, the gift vouchers can be personalized.
At the beginning of this year we launched the option for your clients to move their appointment online. This can be done using the link in the appointment confirmation email. This makes it possible to immediately choose a different date or time and from now on, there is no need to reschedule an appointment yourself. Were you not yet aware of this feature? Through our idea box we get lots of good suggestions from you that we will certainly not leave unheard! A frequently requested feature is the possibility to request online deposits. An incredibly powerful tool for reducing no shows. Also with this feature we have given you the freedom to set your own percentage.
Don't you want your regular customers to have to pay online as well? Then you can set it so that the deposit does not apply to every customer. Read in this article how it works.
Another function that was in high demand was sending and receiving forms online. Useful for sending corona health check forms, intake questionnaires or contracts.
We wrote a help article explaining how to make a corona health check form. You can then have it sent to the client automatically. Once you have created the forms, you can send it to them by email in order for your client to complete it digitally.
And last but not least! Our pride of 2020. The new booking widget! The most important Salonized feature got a complete makeover. It’s super nice to see that the widget is also appreciated by you. In two weeks, more than 40.000 appointments have been made with the new booking widget! You can customize the widget to the style of your website, show descriptions with your services and let customers choose their favourite employee.

Behind the scenes we are working on a new partnership with Google. Soon we will launch Google Reserve. A simple (and free) integration to let your customers make a booking directly through Google. This great partnership gives you the opportunity to increase your reach and be visible to new potential customers. Our development team has had to solve a lot of puzzles for an integration of this size, but it's almost available!
The makeover of the booking widget hungers for more! At the end of last year we gave our website a new look. Our next project is our system. Besides updating the look of the app so it's also in fashion again, the app will also be optimized for mobile so it's more user friendly.
