A loyalty programme can do wonders for your business. It motivates your clients to visit your salon more often, which gives your turnover a boost. But what is a good way to make a loyalty programme attractive for your clients? In this blog you will read everything you need to know about the use of loyalty points and how you and your clients can benefit from them.
Before we start on the benefits, it's important to make the loyalty points system feasible for your clients. If it takes too much effort to benefit from the saved points, your client will not be motivated to save a full loyalty card.

The biggest benefit you get from a loyalty programme is an improved customer relationship. The concept is simple: you reward your customers for booking a treatment or buying a product. We love to be rewarded! This has everything to do with the substance dopamine that is released in the brain.
Besides the psychological effect, it is an excellent moment for you to pamper your clients which will make it more likely for them to come back. Harvard says it: returning customers spend 67% more than new customers!

In quiet times like the summer, you can use your loyalty programme as a lure. Think of double loyalty points when an appointment is made for unpopular hours. That way, you can still fill the agenda.
Now of course the question is how you can best use the loyalty programme. Here are a few examples of how you can use both your digital and old-fashioned loyalty card:
How often have you been at a checkout, automatically giving your savings card, without actually knowing, what you are saving for? That is bad news and certainly something you want and can prevent with your savings programme.
There are a few tricks to keeping your customers motivated:
With every payment, inform your customer of the point balance and how many points he/she still needs to benefit from it.
Remind the customer what the savings are worth and what nice discounts or goodies they can score with them.
Trigger customers to save points by regularly renewing the offer or upgrading benefits.
I'll go into the latter in more detail, because it involves some marketing skills.
People love it when they are appreciated. So do you! By giving the savings programme a creative twist, you can turn your customers into fans.
How?
Well, for example, by upgrading your customers to "top customer" when saving 5+ points, "vip customer" when saving 10+ points, etc… When your customers are not only visitors, but your fans, you benefit from lots of advantages, positive words and word-of-mouth advertising.
There are endless ways to design a loyalty points programme. If you can't work it out, we're always here to help and think along with you. You know where to find us!🙋♀️
